The #WhyWeDoResearch campaign aims to raise research awareness and to start a conversation about research between staff, patients and the public.
Since Salford R+D joined this global campaign in March 2015, our Twitter feed @SalfordRD has featured more than 200 messages of support for research.
All sorts of people have joined in – patients and research participants, members of the public and visitors to Salford Royal, GPs, clinical researchers, academics and hospital staff.
We’ve had a big range of reasons for carrying out or supporting research – but at the heart of most responses is that research helps patients by improving care in the health service. We’d like to say thank you to everyone who has stopped to talk about research, write their message and allow us to tweet their photo. Here’s a small selection of them.
