Jesse Oliver

Jesse Oliver is the Research Assistant within Research & Innovation at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and helps run Salford Lung Study, PQIP and the NCARC collection studies. Jesse has recently been working on the redevelopment of the NCA Research Collection in order to allow vendors to have ease of access to biomaterial and data, NCA experts and facilities to support scientifically validated and ethically approved biomedical research.

Jesse has previous experience involves working as a Research Practitioner throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. As research practitioner on the Covid-19 Core team he was at the forefront of recruitment for studies such as RECOVERY and Covid-19 Bioresource collection. He was redeployed to help with the Covid-19 Laboratory team where he trained practitioners and nurses in safe operation within a CAT 2 Laboratory. For his work throughout the pandemic, he has been awarded the Research Hero award 2020.

In addition to his job Jesse has worked to revive the Research Practitioner Forum, a learning resource to help connect research practitioners throughout the Trust to form support networks, as well as working within the research information governance team.
