Monday 23 September, 12.30-1.30pm
Frank Rifkin Lecture Theatre, Mayo Building, Salford Royal
NCA is relaunching its Grand Rounds, welcoming nurses, midwives and allied health professionals alongside doctors of all grades and offering online as well as face to face access to facilitate connections across care organisations.
The monthly meetings will be an opportunity to share knowledge, build on continuing medical education (attendance certificates available) and make links across different teams and specialties.
The Grand Rounds will rotate between our Salford, Bury and Oldham sites, and will feature a case discussion and short presentation, with a chance for questions. You will be able to attend in person (lunch provided) but there will also be an opportunity to watch live via MS Teams and the sessions will also be recorded for those whose clinical duties prevent them watching live.
The first Grand Round will focus on renal medicine. The agenda will cover a typical case of chronic kidney disease (Dr Saif Al Chalabi, renal research fellow); current management of CKD (Prof Phil Kalra); sick day rules and early management of AKI (Dr Hannah O’Keefe; renal research fellow).
The meeting will be in Frank Rifkin Lecture Theatre, Mayo Building, Salford Royal, on Monday 23 September, 12.30-1.30pm. Use this link to attend online: https://bit.ly/NCAGR230924
Mr Mohammed Zahir, NCA Director of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education, and Prof Phil Kalra, NCA Director of Research & Innovation, are leading the relaunch and are keen to promote collaborative working to make the most of the specialist knowledge and experience that exists within the NCA.
They hope the meetings will also build camaraderie and respect throughout the organisation.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Rafik Bedair is supporting the plans.
