Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust supports GM Synergy, a practice placement model which supports learners on their journey from novice to registered practitioner.

The three key pillars of GM synergy are:

• Coaching conversations – Adopting a coaching style to practice learning provides learners with the opportunity to take responsibility for their own knowledge acquisition.
• Peer learning – Encouraging opportunities to learn with and from other learners, service users and  healthcare staff.
• Engagement in service delivery – Involving learners, supporting them to be ‘hands on’ and, where appropriate, lead on care delivery. Valuing learners contribution to care delivery as part of the team.
