Congratulations to the Salford Royal emergency department team, who have been recognised in a report to mark 25 years of the Joseph Epstein Centre for Emergency Medicine Research in Melbourne, Australia.
Led by Professor Dan Horner, Salford’s team were major contributors to the Headache in Emergency Departments (HEAD) study, a major global collaboration which resulted in 11 publications in peer-reviewed journals and provided new information about the epidemiology of headache in ED patients, migraine, risk factors for serious headache causes, headache in the elderly and utilisation of imaging.
The work was supported through the Trainee Emergency Research Network, a collaborative network that aims to provide research opportunities for all trainees in EM.
