Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) Research and Innovation (R&I) guidance for addresses and acknowledgements in publications
Addresses
External agencies use citation analysis in address lines of publications as a means of ranking institutions. The below address guidance ensures the NCA is appropriately listed and can be found in bibliometric searches.
Some journals may restrict the level of detail that can be included. However, the following should be used wherever possible.
For staff with an NCA contract:
Name
Department (eg, Department of Rheumatology), Hospital (see below), Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, Greater Manchester, UK.
NCA Hospitals:
- Fairfield General Hospital
- Rochdale Infirmary
- Salford Royal Hospital
- The Royal Oldham Hospital
For staff who have an affiliation with Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre, Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences, or Donal O’Donoghue Renal Research Centre, add the centre after or in place of the hospital.
For staff with an NCA contract who also have a University contract (full or honorary):
Name1,2 (the order of 1 and 2 are interchangeable according to where your primary contract resides)
- Department (eg., Department of Rheumatology), Hospital (see above), Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, Greater Manchester, UK.
- Centre name (if applicable), Division, School, Faculty, University, rest of address as appropriate.
For staff with an NCA Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC) contract:
Name
Department (i.e., Department of Rheumatology), Hospital (see above), Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester Academic Health Science Centre, Greater Manchester, UK.
For staff with an NCA MAHSC contract who also have a University contract (full or honorary):
Name1,2 (the order of 1 and 2 are interchangeable according to where your primary contract resides)
