International gold award success for NCA team

Expert research staff at Northern Care Alliance (NCA) have won global recognition with gold place in the prestigious Pharma Times International Clinical Researcher of the Year awards.

Our successful year for clinical studies in partnership with pharmaceutical and medical technology firms was reflected in top prize in the Clinical Research Team of the Year category. We were also the only NHS organisation to be shortlisted in any category this year.

Research delivery leads Rachel Newport and Kathryn Slevin, Research Practitioner Jenny Kujacz and R&I Deputy Manager Rowen Norton were presented with the award after three rounds of challenging competition.

Established for more than two decades, the International Clinical Researcher of the Year awards celebrate clinical research worldwide. This year, a record number of competitors took part from across all areas of the globe.

Northern Care Alliance’s Research & Innovation Managing Director, Professor Steve Woby, said: “We are delighted that our team have been so successful in these international awards.

“We have a national and international reputation for the high quality of our research and a growing portfolio of studies in partnership with some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, enabling us to offer patients the chance to take part in the very latest cutting-edge research, such as gene therapy and other early phase studies. This success is hugely well-deserved but even more importantly reflects the in-depth knowledge and dedication our research colleagues give to patients and service users every day.”
