Professor Phil Kalra has been appointed as the Northern Care Alliance’s Director of Research & Innovation.
Professor Kalra, who is internationally known for his renal research, will provide academic leadership for the Trust, linking with our key academic and industry partners, strengthening relationships and building on existing collaborations.
He will help drive research that supports the needs of the Trust and its patients, making a positive contribution to shaping the organisation’s future. He will also play a key role in supporting professional development of researchers across the group, providing mentorship and advice and promoting best practice.
Professor Kalra said: “Research is such a key part of improving many aspects of healthcare. I am delighted to help continue the development of a vibrant research and innovation culture that aims to enable opportunities for all enthusiastic members of staff, and all interested patients, to be involved in research at each of the NCA’s care organisations.”
