NCARC offices are situated within Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust at Salford Royal. This includes the Salford Biorepository Facilities.
The NCARC team and overall governance structure comprises:
- NCARC Clinical Lead – clinical and quality management
- NCARC Ethics & Regulatory lead – regulatory and quality management
- NCARC Biorepository Manager – biorepository sample handling and storage
- NCARC Delivery Team – consent and recruitment
- NCA Research Management Team – contracts/MTAs/DSAs
- Digital & Innovation Committee –data, digital and information governance
- Collection & Access Review Panel – includes experts and lay members to provide approval of applications
All of the above ensure that NCARC:
- Oversee governance and provide ethical, scientific and operational direction
- Collectively have the qualifications and experience to review and evaluate the scientific, medical, and ethical implications of any proposed research and/or collections
- HTA relevant material is collected, stored and released appropriately in line with the HTA licence, and ensures documents for the licence are updated:
- Auditing samples stored under the licence
- Creating and maintaining appropriate SOPs
- Providing and ensuring all staff have the appropriate training, ie HTA, consent, GCP, GLP etc
- Providing guidance for staff to ensure HTA relevant material used or stored on site in compliant with the HTA Act.
