Dr Rob Oliver

Dr Rob Oliver is the Research Laboratory Lead for Research and Innovation at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. He is also the named Designated Individual for the Human Tissue Act research licence, the lead for research laboratories and sample processing, the lead for monitoring and compliance, and is currently driving the implementation of processes to support Early Phase and Gene Therapy trials.

Rob has studied and worked in Greater Manchester for almost 25 years.  He has been involved in various biobanking initiatives including the Vascular Diseases Biorepository, Salford Respiratory Biobank and most recently in the establishing the Northern Care Alliance Research Collection (NCARC).

Rob also worked on STRATUM (Strategic Tissue Repository Alliance through Unified Methods) in the evaluation of cost-recovery models across UK biobanks and networks.

He is an advocate for maximising high quality and ethically sound research using samples that have been generously donated by our NHS patients.
